My SiteLock was coming up for annual renewal. I waited to contact the web designer who is updating my site, to find out if I should keep Sitelock, and consequently called 5 days (including a weekend when Sitelock customer service was not available by phone) after the automatic renewal went through my bank. I came here to share my terrible experience with SiteLock, but it looks like every body else has had the same experience. I've been getting erroneously charged month after month for a subscription I did not authorize. I continuously call to get it cancelled, and every time they say it's all fixed. Low and behold, the next month I get charged again. They always say the same thing, "we have no record of your cancellation." It's only $10, but month after month it adds up. This is the worst company I have ever done business with. They crashed our email for 2 weeks, and claimed it wasn't our fault, then eventually realized they didn't set the records correctly. Trying to cancel their bad service? Good luck. You can't do it online, they have to CALL YOU, and after 2 weeks of trying to get ahold of them, they promised me it would be cancelled, although they would not refund my money, even though we decided they fixed nothing and solely crashed our email for our business for 2 weeks. The service was not helpful in identifying how our website was hacked. Please remember this is a monitoring service and only after your site has been hacked will SiteLock spring into action. The problem is that action comes with additional costs in remediation. So the fee is really just a scanner and a retainer for when something goes wrong. My issue is their cancellation policy. Our company contacted Site Lock on 8/5/19 to clean our website. The representative stated that the cost would be $800 which would be distributed over one year at the cost of $70 a month at which time the cost would revert back to $17 a month regular fee. The final payment of $70 was made on 7?520. However, on 8/5/20 we were again billed $70. Upon contacting the Site Lock, I was told that the contact at $70 was automatically renewed since we did not contact them before the renewal date and that our rate would continue to be $... read more

On 8/27/2020 I received an email and later a telephone call from SiteLock customer service manager. He was extremely courteous and indicated that, as requested, my service contract had been terminated, there would be no early termination fee and $70 overpayment was credited to my card. I am pleased with these results and expressed my appreciation for his assistance. I provided specific suggestions for his consideration so as to avoid this situation in the future.

Beware of SiteLock. They swoop in when you are most vulnerable with your website, then rely on their "Terms of Service" to lock you into recurring plans which typically don't cover any additional issues that come up with your website. Their customer support is unwilling to work with you as they are more interested in making a quick dollar then creating long-term customers. This company is a total scam. We've never even used their services and they charge us $373/month. They won't let us cancel, so we're just going to cancel the card they have on file to stop the billing. They won't answer their phones, they won't honor cancel requests, and they lie to you whenever they can. The fact that my complaint is so similar to others is troubling, particularly since the BBB gives them an A+ - I have no clue how that his possible.

I am very disappointed in this service. I have been trying to cancel my account for weeks. I requested cancellation online, received a notice that someone would be reaching out to me to confirm. Never received a phone call. Tried again. Still no call. I called into Sitelock 3 or 4 times. The first time the hold time was 45+ minutes. The second time, I was being "transferred" and the call dropped. Sitelock charged me the entire annual fee yesterday. I called in inquiring as to why. They said they couldn't help me until Monday... read more

DO NOT sign up for this service. They are not worth what they charge you, and they will continue to charge you even when you don't want to renew their annual plan. Make sure that your bank does not accommodate them. The card number they had on file for me was no longer valid, but the managed to bill a new card number. They refused to refund me despite several calls, emails, and a report made here on BBB. Do yourself a favor and do not get involved with this shady company.
