As a veteran and a husband to one of the ladies that volunteer their time to visit Vets at VA Hospitals with Pin-Ups-For-Vets, I am saddened and angered by Sioux Falls VA hospital's management decision to turn what Pin-Ups-For-Vets do during their visit and the calendar they provide into something "inappropriate". #DeptVetAffairs
Not sure if you folks actually looked at the materials Pin Ups for Vet wanted to distribute, but when I look at them, I see women who are brave, strong and beautiful. Just the kind of woman I want my daughter to grow up to be!

Until they reverse decision and allow pinups for vets to visit.
It is a real shame that your facility first approves the visit of Pin up for Vets, a Non Profit Group who travels the country visiting and giving some comfort and laughs to our Vets. Then the leadership of your facility changes their mind and disapproves and cancels the visit. The reason that was given is that the group seems inappropriate to your facility, but yet this group has visited over 62 VA Hospitals and Clinics throughout the country, and has recieved numerous Letters of Appeiciation for their efforts. Only one who is being disrespectful is you by denying the Pinup Vets not allowing to come and respectfully bring smiles to those who need it. Jealous much? The VA is supposed to help and yet you have this WONDERFUL group wanting to help out and you first say yes then deny them with the STUPIDEST excuses. You all should be ashamed of yourselves! Disgusting and disrespectful is what come to mind for what you have done.
I think it is extremely disheartening, rude, and sickening that you won't allow Pin Up for Vets to visit the veterans. The people you care for should be allowed to decide for themselves who is appropriate or not to visit THEM. That organization does not exist for you or how you feel, but for the VETERANS. And the fact that that group includes VETERANS shows that you are only doing them a disservice to meet fellow comrades whose only goal is to better the lives around them. I find it unconscionable that your organization is refusing to allow the classy Pin Ups for Vets ladies to visit our veterans at your facility. These are female veterans who volunteer to come in and spend time with our veterans, providing them with much needed interaction. They raise funds to improve our veterans' healthcare, donates money for medical equipment, promote volunteerism at Veterans Hospitals, support homeless Veterans in shelters, amongst other things.
