Callous, narrow-minded, and selfish. I pity your poor veterans in-house.
Your ignorance of Pin-Up for Vets is shamful. Those volunteers ARE veterans...both male and female veterans! You are disrespecting them and your patients. No wonder veterans have no respect for the VA. You are an example.
Its a shame you will not allow the pin ups to visit. Our Vets love this as it makes them smile and relive their youth. Not only our vets but all of the residents. Speaking from experience it is a wonderful feeling to make our older generation smile and maybe relive their youth. Its a great stimulating act. They dont feel alone and we get to thank them , visit and talk to everyone. This is something the residents need.
Your asinine excuse given to Pin-up For Vets retracting your permission for a visit is a shame and embarrassment for women everywhere. I know the VA itself is quite renowned for its letting our veterans down, but you have certainly taken the cake! Most the women in this organization ARE veterans, and aren't "objectifying the female veteran" are you absurd?!? Do your research on what an encouragement and moral booster the pin-up was to our veterans in ww2, Korea, Vietnam, and..... Oh wait, you don't really care. That's right.... read more
You don't even have the stones to sign your name to your refusal to allow pin ups for vets to provide their time as volunteers to your facility. If you are afraid to own your decision by putting your name to it, you probably already knew it was the wrong decision.
They dont seem to like or respect vets. Espscially female vets.
Something needs to change we veteran's need a smile looking back at us from where ever we lay helps in the healing
