Renovated in June 2007, Silk City is actually two places joined together. The diner was originally built by the Silk City company in the 1930s. If you are familiar with the old Silk City menu, expect changes. I thought the music was great. Mostly old school hip hop and Pop music. Bartender was nice also. I haven't tried the food but will next time I go back.
The Wife and I were in town for the Eagles/Redskins game. We meet some friends there for brunch before the game. The service was good and it didn't take long for our food once the order was placed. I had the shrimp and grits and the Wife a crab meat omelet both were great! We will definitely be visiting on our return to Philadelphia.
The best calamari my boyfriend has ever had! Always a delightful gem to visit. The most friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere, and fantastic food!
