horrendous experience! my step-dad had major surgery today and we can't get an update! they apparently forgot to call. and we have made numerous attempts to get information and no one seems to care. we don't even know if he made it through. completely inhumane. just dumbfounded and furious.

Worst experience of my life last night.. I was brought in because I had passed out and wasn’t able to be woken up.. I had been drinking (work party) but hardly enough to cause such a reaction. They weren’t even able to get me to wake up with sternal rub or smelling salts. My husband was there and let them know I have health issues that can also cause this passing out issue. The EMTs were great I was told. I finally woke up around 1am and asked to use the rest room (completely sober). The charge nurse named Penny didn’t offer... read more

Waited 3 hours and had to complain to see a DR for a 92 year old with heart issue. Had to tolerate a triage nurse (blond with pony tail) who came in and out with her mask down to talk to people. Substandard care doesn't begin to describe this horrible experience.

Business response:

Thank you for leaving us feedback. It is disappointing to learn when experiences are not positive. We'd like the opportunity to discuss this with you. Please reach out to us at (941) 483-7050 at your earliest convenience.

It is completely unacceptable that my sister has been in the ER waiting room for 4 hours and has not been seen. i am out of state and just called the ER department to be told the wait time is 5 hours. What is going on there? Defer those patients to another hospital! Tell them of the wait time when they arrive.

Business response:

Noelle, thank you for bringing this to our attention no have reached out to you via private message.

Night shift ER is very unprofessional and rude. For two hours I heard nurses arguing, threatening to quit, etc. The receptionist pointed at me laughing about why I was in the ER waiting to be treated compared to other more “serious” cases. My husband and I walked out. That is not how you treat patients who are paying you for your help and services. Less drama and more compassion. Hope to never have to go back. I will make the drive to SMH.

Business response:

Thank you for leaving us feedback. It is disappointing to learn when experiences are not positive. If you'd be willing to provide more feedback, please reach out to us at (941) 483-7050 so we can learn more.

I was a patient in Venice Hospital for 3 weeks in January for sepsis which caused me to have a rare severe reaction to the antibiotics. I was on 3 North and I was treated like a queen by everyone. I came back for 3 weeks in February for blood clots and cellulitis this time I was on 4 North and again treated like a queen. Finally March I spent 2 weeks on 3 South and transferred mid stay to 2 North when the COVID 19 outbreak exploded and they needed my floor (3 South for isolation) Not only was I treated well, but I was respec... read more
