I just got a tattoo done at Purple Lotus Body Art. The shop was clean and welcoming. Shavon and Alex both do amazing work and are very friendly! i felt very comfortable with the shop and the staff. Alex did my tattoo. I told him what I wanted the tattoo to be, and he had the most amazing sketch drawn up, it exceeded my expectations! He was very professional and the tattoo came out beautiful! It is exactly as I imagined and I love it! My husband and I plan on returning to Purple Lotus for future tatts.
While the tattoos my husband and I got were not exactly custom, it is not like we picked them from the wall of tattoos like you would find in other shops either. Shavon, being from Western Pennsylvania like us, was more than happy to oblige our love of the Pittsburgh Steelers with a variation of the logo on my back and on my husbands calf. I finally got my very first tattoo and I am overwhelmed with excitement- thank you Shavon and Richard! You both welcomed me as as graciously as family would back in Hawaii! I got a tribal turtle with plumeria flowers on a stem along my bikini area. I'm going back for the same thing on the opposite end in a few days!!! Shavon is great. She is an outstanding artist with unbelievable skill and speed. I would never go to anyone else for my ink. The studio is welcoming and wonderful. Everyone at the studio is nice and supportive.
Shavon's Purple Lotus Body Art came highly recommended. Presented with a Celtic symbol that I wanted incorporated into the design, Shavon designed a gorgeous intricate custom design around the Celtic symbol. She does work in pure color (no icky black outline) and was open to the fact that I really wanted the majority done in shades of red. The putrid black mass of bleeding heart turned to a beautiful lotus flower after Shavon's creative eye and art was through with me. "Through with me" is not entirely accurate as I will return to have more work done and I will recommend others. The friendly, peaceful, charming, and inviting environment was clean, comfortably lit, private, and fun! when i went to cola for my fifth tattoo i expected your typical tattoo joint. as soon as i saw the house from the road i knew that i was way off. the inside of the shop is immaculate and makes you feel at home.i went in with a very vague idea of what i wanted and within 5 minutes of talking to Shavon knew exactly what i wanted even before i did. the hannya mask she sketched up for me was exceptional and by far is the best tattoo i've gotten so far. First of all, Shavon, you rock. I got my first tatto in North Carolina, and I can't even compare it to the tatto I got at The Purple Lotus. I don't even consider it a tatto, but a piece of art. Shavon is a creative artist, a pefectionist, and is very intuitive. I only knew that I wanted a Pisces tattoo that was somehow incorporated with my existing tattoo.
