I just got a tattoo done by the amazing Shavon. I have nothing negative at all to say even if I wanted to. The shop as a whole makes you feel like you are part of the purple lotus family. The artwork is completely custom and the actual tattoo technique is very detail oriented. I have collected a decent amount of tattoo's from several artist some of whom are friends and have always let the artist do something that they wanted to, a piece that they designed with minimal input from me other than price range and spot on the body... read more

I've gotten four tattoos from Shavon at the Purple Lotus and I have to say that I'm pleased with all of them. The artwork is great and it's always fun whether I'm just stopping in to say hi, get a new tattoo, or get some work done on one that's a work in progress. Being in the military and away from Columbia can be troublesome but Shavon always manages to squeeze me in for some work and I've never been disappointed. Not at all what i expected.Needs to focus more on her job and not worry about anything else. big regret stopping here. artwork is soso.Not so much custom, more like copying others work.

I went to Shavon on the recommendation of a friend. Everyone was very friendly, and knowledgeable. The shop was clean and comfortable. When she did my tattoo she used only new needles and ink. The work she done is awesome, following the instructions she gave me it is already starting to heal. I will be going back to get more. The best experience I have had getting a tattoo done anywhere. She did great work and it was cheaper than anyone else in town quoted me. Go to Shavon and you will be happy.

I heard about Shavon's Purple Lotus through a friend, who said that she's supposed to be the best in the area, with years and years of experience. After the reference, I went to the shop's website to learn a little more. I have to say, the fact that she's lived, done work, and had work done on her in multiple countries definitely caught my attention. I went to get my tattoo at the purple lotus on my birthday this week. It was my first tattoo and I was very nervous at first until shavon started. The atmosphere was amazing and shavon's work was so gentle it was like getting the tattoo in my own living room. I love my tattoo and her detailed aftercare instructions have been a blessing. If you're in Columbia and planning to get a tattoo, the purple lotus is the place to go!
