Dr Shannon Wong was AWESOME! I just had cataract surgery and got the “Symphony” multifocal lens, and it’s great! For me, before/after is similar to changing my cell phone’s Brightness setting from 40 to 110%... the clarity & crispness is like going from a 1980s tube TV to a modern OLED HDTV... and the colors I now see are so vivid it’s almost to the point of being 3D (no joke)! The surgery itself was easy shmeazy... the thing that “hurt” the most were the eye drops to numb my eyeball (no big deal), and after that there was Z... read more

I visited Dr. Wong months ago to find out if he would be an option for my cataract surgery. Since I have retinal problems, I wanted a doctor who would take care of any complications I might have. Dr. Wong seemed mostly concerned about money --and not the health of the eye. The online reviews & attitudes I experienced at my visit caused me to reconsider Dr. Wong for my surgery. Issues I recently had with their billing confirm my opinions of Dr. Wong's clinic.

Wow! For the first time ever, I have 20/20 vision! For a decade, I debated having LASIK but with a hefty prescription and dry eyes, I was always too scared and instead just "lived in my contacts." With three kids and an active lifestyle, this was becoming harder and harder to maintain. And I calculated that with the dailies I was purchasing, the cost of surgery actually became cost-effective in the not so long-term. So, I scheduled a consultation with Dr. Shannon Wong. Dr. Wong performed my PRK 15 years ago, my first cataract surgery 3 years ago and just recently my second cataract surgery. He is the ultimate professional and superb surgeon. I highly recommend!

I found Dr Wong to be pleasant, friendly, and professional. His staff is excellent, helpful and patient. He was thorough and answered my questions, explaining clearly what I asked about. I did feel that the laser cataract technique was pushed too much, since I had decided against it due to the cost. But I was treated very well and felt that I was in the best hands during surgical procedures. I would recommend him.

I had cataracts removed from both eyes within two weeks of each other. Both surgeries went well, beginning with a comprehensive examination and work up leading to surgery. The nursing staff was very polite and gave clear instructions for preparation and post surgery protocol. I was made to feel at ease all during the process and appreciate the time and patience that was given to me. Dr. Shannon Wong was very easy to talk to and I felt comfortable all during the surgical procedure.

Dr. appears competent, but more financially driven than patient driven. I made an appointment to understand my condition, typical progression, and options. Condition - there was no explanation or time spent other than quickly answering questions with little context. Typical progression, answer - unknown. I understand everyone is different and was looking for this is what I've seen in others with similar issues. Options - geared heavily towards lens change, 12k cost with no guarantees. Next!

After wearing glasses for many years, I decided to have iLasik surgery. I couldn't be happier with the results! Dr. Wong and his staff at Austin Eye were very welcoming and helpful. I felt completely at ease with them. I highly recommend Dr. Wong.
