Dr. Wong and his staff are professionals who took the time to explain the tests and make me feel comfortable during the process of evaluating my need for cataract surgery. The various pieces of equipment used were state of the art and the reports they produced gave Dr. Wong good information as he began his thorough exam of my eyes. His evaluation didn't overpromise and his explanations were reasonable.I look forward to having the surgery.

WORDS OF WARNING TO THE WISE! Austin Eye treats people like units of money and not as patients. They advertise on TV, which is extremely unprofessional for physicians/surgeons, and it’s obvious that all they care about is making $$$ and not providing quality care! They also doublebook patients and run you through their clinic like you’re cattle! Your eyes are examined/refracted by a medical technician, who is “supervised” by an optometrist who spends very little time with you. You don’t even get to see an ophthalmologist (MD... read more

I am very pleased with the Austin Eye staff and Dr. Wong. It’s easy to make appointments and the staff is always friendly. Dr. Wong corrected my vision with LASIK surgery in the 90’s and recently corrected my vision with Premium Lens Replacement. Dr. Wong explained the procedure and didn’t try to pressure me into surgery. He said that lenses were always improving and I should have the surgery when I was tired of dealing with poor vision. I’m glad he let me make my own decision. I was ready! I can read menus without glasses! ... read more

I have been seeing Dr. Wong since 2004, when he performed Lasik on both eyes. Since then, I have seen him for regular checkups, and cataract surgery on both eyes. He recently performed a capsulotomy on my right eye. In every case, the procedure was thoroughly explained to me, his staff was courteous and professional, and the results were excellent. I will see him again, no doubt. I highly recommend Austin Eye and Dr. Shannon Wong.

My wife and I have been recent patients of Dr. Wong. Both of us had Premium Lens Replacement surgery in both eyes over the past several weeks, and Dr. Wong performed the YAG LASER Capsulotomy yesterday morning on my eyes. We are both very pleased with the results of the procedures, and Dr. Wong and his staff did an excellent job in setting expectations regarding our treatments.

Couldn’t be happier with my new lenses and my experience with Dr. Wong and Austin Eye. Very transparent process and everyone was willing to spend the necessary time to answer my questions/address any concerns I had. Recovery was exactly as communicated. Eyesight is 20/20, no need for reading glasses. Wish I had done it earlier!!

In May of 2021, I made an appointment for lens replacement with Austin Eye. I was told by Dr. Wong that this surgery would correct my vision, but that I might still have to use reading glasses. Since my three lens exchanges (starting in June, 2021), I am still unable to see as clearly as I could before the surgery, and now my vision is worse than it was before the lens replacements. Dr. Wong did nothing else to help me with my eyesight and said that this would be the way it will be. I would have thought he would have tried s... read more

I agree with the above: very rude, didn't want to answer questions and I had no idea what his plan for me was when he left the room. I'm not going to spend 12k on a surgery with a doc who makes me feel like I'm wasting his time. I think there are better options out there. I felt like he could've cared less if I did the surgery.
