Established in 1978, Shank's Mare Outfitters is located in an historic 1880's General store building on the banks of the Susquehanna River. Our 10 retail rooms feature clothing and gear for kayaking, walking and hiking, and cross country skiing and snowshoeing. A wide range of outdoor accessories compliments our great selection of products in a truly unique Outfitters Shop. We also offer a full calender of lessons, trips, tours, kids camps, and field trips.

We went looking for advice on kayaks. We were educated and told to come back for their demo weekend over Mother's Day when we will have a chance to try them out and there will be a sale! They know how to treat their customers...can't wait to go back and there's a beautiful drive to boot!
