Established in 1978, Shank's Mare Outfitters is located in an historic 1880's General store building on the banks of the Susquehanna River. Our 10 retail rooms feature clothing and gear for kayaking, walking and hiking, and cross country skiing and snowshoeing. A wide range of outdoor accessories compliments our great selection of products in a truly unique Outfitters Shop. We also offer a full calender of lessons, trips, tours, kids camps, and field trips.

Awesome experience with our board instructor, josh and our yoga instructor, nicole! I would recommend SUP yoga to anyone looking for something different and it is as challenging as you want to make it:). It was nice that it was 2 hours long also!

I wasn't sure if I would like kayaking, so I decided to take the Comprehensive Kayaking Class. I was not disappointed. Everyone was very professional and taught us wet exits and different rescue techniques. This bolstered my confidence and I cant wait to get back on the water. Maybe through one of their paddle tours!
Bought my first kayak during the Father's Day demo days. Very happy with it. Extremely knowledgeable staff who are an absolute pleasure to do business with. The outdoor gear sold at Shank's Mare is top-of-the-line quality.
