Established in 1978, Shank's Mare Outfitters is located in an historic 1880's General store building on the banks of the Susquehanna River. Our 10 retail rooms feature clothing and gear for kayaking, walking and hiking, and cross country skiing and snowshoeing. A wide range of outdoor accessories compliments our great selection of products in a truly unique Outfitters Shop. We also offer a full calender of lessons, trips, tours, kids camps, and field trips.

My husband and I just completed the comprehensive kayak training class with Devin. He made it relaxed, comfortable, informed, safe, and didn't laugh when we made rookie mistakes or couldn't quite get our older bodies to cooperate. This is an excellent class to learn how to safely kayak. Thanks for a great day of education and fun.
