hey it's GOood – Lukshopeokay I dont know how to spell it but it was amazing. The handmade dessert was a must try. I always eat at the Japanese side because sushi there was so fresh and the fresh fry tempura they fry right in front of you was crispy. Delicious! The server was very nice. He was very polite, friendly, and promptly brings our food in a good timely manner. Japanese was definitely my favorite side of the two. However, my wife always votes for Thai food as she love the shrimp pad thai. I am not complaining though ... read more

Don't waste your time – Horrible service- took 10 minutes to order drinks and another 10 to get them- 3 drinks each served one at a time with a few minutes in between. Waitstaff is completely clueless and waited in the bar for an hour before being passed over on the waiting list. Went to advise the manager who was dealing with another dissatisfied customer and the hostess turned her back on me, fearing confrontation. After an hour and a half, we left and had an excellent dinner with equal service at Waraji.

Great food and atmoshphere.. – but they need to learn about how to train their servers. It took 10 minutes and me inquiring as to where our bottle of wine was. The server said, "Oh, yeah we are out of that wine." We then ordered another that was in stock. I think there was no floor manager present, as the servers had tables spread about the restaurant rather than in assigned sections. This resulted in at least 5 minutes passing between a request made by us and completion of the task. I will go one more time because I really ... read more

Excellent gourmet Thai! – I had a wonderful meal in the Thai side this week with my wife and mother-in-law. The Chicken Satay was the best I've ever had. The Basil Roll was excellent, but didn't need the hot sauce added to the dipping sauce. The Duck Salad was excellent too. As for the entrees, all 3 of ours were excellent, including salmon, shrimp, and Sea Bass. All were cooked perfectly (not dry) with excellent and flavorful sauces. I can't wait to return to try more Thai, some house cocktails, and the Japanese side. This ... read more

Swish Swish means I make tracks – Thai side is sigularly uninspired. This is about what you would expect for thai food in NC. If you have tried Sushi Thai, then you have already know what to expect. The sushi was a massive disappointment. The chefs who appear just out of jr. high, inform me that they don't accept orders in the customary fashion. They lost track of too many bills, so the waitress enforces documentation. You are presented with the usual collection of speciality rolls/nigiri, some good, some bad and nothing spe... read more

Go for the mood, not for the food – I have not tried the thai side of the restaurant, but had the opportunity to try the Japenese side. The design of the place is definitely more modern compared to the other Japanese restaurants. However, the more important FOOD, was terrible. The sushi rice was not cooked and the vinegar used tasted like something they bought at a local grocery store(fatal). And please stop using the eel sauce on most everything. An expected result from inexperienced chefs opening restaurants. In summary, g... read more

Wonderful! – This place is awesome. Either pick the Japanese side or the Thai side and then enjoy a wonderful meal with a great atmosphere.

Overpriced – Was very disappointed. Expected to be able to enjoy both Thai and Sushi, but had to choose one side of restaurant over the other. Chose Thai, but was shocked at the prices. I ordered the spiciest dish on menu, and made a point to tell waitress I wanted the food hot, but it came out not spicy at all. Food was ok, but not nearly as good as Sawasdee, which I consider the best Thai food in the Triangle and had much better food at half the price.

Go for the Shabu Shabu – There are sushi bars, and there are Thai resturants. But the reason to go to this place is for one thing that is unique to the area: the shabu shabu tables. At each seating place there is a heating element and metal hot pot that will be filled with chicken broth and seaweed. Once the appetizers have been finished, you "swish swish" your beef, seafood or veggies in the boiling broth to your particular level of doneness. The staff is incredibly helpful, and my partner and I had a total blast. This is d... read more
