AWESOME FOOD; TERRIBLE SERVICE – I've eaten on both the Thai and Japanese sides and thoroughly enjoyed them both. Excellent food at a fair price. The bar is really nice too with friendly bartenders who pour great drinks. However, the restaurant service sucks. Missed reservations, dry water glasses and long waits to place orders made my latest experience there last over four hours. Luckily, the bartender was hooking me up but I still had to get the drinks myself.

The place to be at FRI/SAT nights – Foods are very, very good. The choice of Thai or Japanese section are very unique and creative. Classy interior design in both dinning rooms. Adding TV at the bar will make it place to be during NCAA tournament time. Intelligent owner and superb employees make good service. THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE AT FRI/SAT NIGHT.

Yeah, you have to choose – And? The staff was very nice about letting us look at all menus to decide. We chose a sushi platter and everything on it was delicious. My only complaint is that the waiter came across as a car salesman. May I suggest the shabutini? Several times? At any rate, it's beautiful inside and it's nice to have sushi as good as Waraji's on this side of town.

Sushi OR Thai, not Sushi-Thai – 1. you have to choose. That is weak. 2. I ordered a chicken and egg dish, my hubby ordered chicken stir-fry (on the Japanese side, even though I was craving Thai but we were forced to choose). His stir-fry was amazing. My chicken dish was... eel. I said to the waitress it didn't look like chicken and she said "yeah I know, and i asked the chef but he snapped back at me that it was!" so I took her word for it and ate a few bites... it was fish. So I told her and she was nice enough to take it o... read more

Customer Service :( – The food may have been good, but not sure because the host messed up our reservation time. The reservation was recorded 15 minutes earlier than what was said. When we arrived they said they only held reservations for 15 minutes. We arrived 17 minutes after the time they had, two minutes afer the time we reserved a spot for. They looked at the clock, saw 15+2 minutes and said sorry. After confronting the host, he blew us off and said we could make another reservation with an approximate 1 hr wait. Terrib... read more

The customers always right ?? - Not Here – We decided to give the new resturant down the street a try, so five of us went there for lunch. We'd heard Shabashabu had a Thai/Sushi menu, so we had fans of both in our group. Upon arrival we were curtly informed that we could sit on either the Sushi side or the Thai side, and we were only "allowed" to order from "that" menu. Since we had folks in our party that wanted both, we questioned this policy. This appeared to make the hostess angry. We had to make a choice of either split... read more

don't mess with their feng shui – This is not one restaurant but two and never the twain shall meet. Our group chose this restaurant since they offered two popular cuisines so we thought they could appeal to our entire party. Unfortunately, you can't order sushi on the thai side nor can anything thai be served on the sushi side. You can't have a sushi appetizer and a thai entree. (I wonder if you can get a cocktail in the restaurants, their segregation is so absolute. <g>) All of your party must agree on cuisine or must agre... read more

Tough Decision – Ok! So you like Sushi and you like Thai. I have tried both and I was very impressed the the taste as well as the presentation. The only item I was not happy about was the fact my second return was accompanied by several friends of which some wanted to try both. We were told by our hostess that we had to choose between Thai or Japanese. We opted for the Japanese which was not a bad choice. When the customer has to choose between two styles of cooking, well this could get in someone' crawl real quick as did my... read more

Tongue-Thai'd – Hidden in a run-down strip mall lies one of the most posh restaurants in the Triangle. The separate dining rooms (one Japanese, one Thai) are both lavishly decorated, but you have to choose which menu you want before being seated (unlike Sushi-Thai, where partied can eat off both menus). The food, however, was phenomenal. There are some adventurous offerings on the menu, but I chose the Chicken Red Curry from the Thai menu. My dish was full of flavor, and the spring rolls were some of the best in the Triangle... read more
