Favorite menu items include: chicken fried steak, homemade sausage, fried chicken, schnitzel and of course pie. Everyone deserves pie - homemade buttermilk pie, coconut meringue pie, apple pie and chocolate meringue pie are as good as it gets!

Horrible horrible service!!! I have been here several times and have never had service this bad! It Took forever to get our order! I had to get up and get our silverware and waitress never came to table unless we called her over.

I have been stopping at Schobel's for over 30 years when on my way or coming from family reunion near San Antonio… I'm from the Houston area and that's my stop off point..the wait staff is excellent, and it's a homey atmosphere; the food is great and the hospitality is excellent.
We love coming here anytime we run through town. The buffet is always good and they have the absolute best buttermilk pie anywhere!
Some of the BEST fried chicken (Sunday buffet) you'll ever have.Don't know what they use for their coating, but I'm tasting corn flakes. Might not be, but my pallet is telling me corn flakes. Green beans are super. Mashed potatoes are great. Love the cheese block and the carrot and raisin salad! Pineapples in cole slaw - oh, yes!
Met our friends for lunch, the food and service was outstanding. Stayed for a couple of hours to talk, no one said a thing about hogging the booth. Great people, we'll be back!
If we didn't live 90 miles away we'd eat here at LEAST once a week! My only complaint? I could have used a large soup spoon to shovel in my coconut cream pie! AWESOME!
I just love the food (All of it). It is seasoned & cooked to perfection. Whatever your preference, it is going to be delicious!....I love the Sunday afternoon Buffet. And, the price is right!....I recommend stopping in anytime. You won't be disappointed. ...Also, can't forget the service....very attentive.
This is a great place to eat the food is great and the service is too.
