My granddaughter suffers from severe depression and is bipolar. This doctor left town after changing her appointment and left her without her med for a WEEK!!! No way to contact him at all for a refill. Even her therapist tried to get her a refill and couldn't! As I write this she is in crisis mode and is crashing without her med. This is not a controlled substance either! This is a med that helps her to not be severely depressed and take care of her 2 small children!! what a quack!!!!
Ugh. The worst. Total prescription factory.
He is the worst psychiatrist I have ever seen. He had zero compassion. Only spent about 2 minutes with me. After 38 ects I no longer wanted to continue so he pretty much acted like a waste of his time. Like I was bothering him by being there. I have never been so hurt and let down by someone who was supposed to be a professional. He said I should return to work after 3 months after having my ect procedures. I have tried 3 more medications none of which have worked. Stay far away!
This doctor is terrible and only cares about money. I was seeing him outpatient and then ended up with him when I was hospitalized at Brookwood where he'd come at 5 am and spend 30 seconds with me. He had no interest in how I was doing and so I found a new psychiatrist after I was discharged.
I would give Dr. Schachter and his office 0/5 stars if that was an option. Dr. Schachter upcharges/bills and forges documents. After requesting a copy of my file, I found out that he/his office has been forging my blood pressure for EVERY visit, which is every 3 months. The ONLY times my blood pressure has actually been checked were on my very first visit as a new patient (about 4 years ago) and when I had an appointment with a Nurse Practitioner in his office.
Quick to prescribe meds and does not take the time to speak with his patients. Seems his interest come before yours, $$$.
I was a patient of Dr. Schachter's as a juvenile. Ten years later, looking back on what was done to me I consider it beyond negligence, and into the realm of medical abuse. Dr. Schachter, over the course of years, probably spent a matter of hours with me - appointments were typically ten minutes long and consisted of frequently altering medications, which were given to me in doses above what is approved for adults. I'm lucky and grateful to be alive despite Dr. Schachter's care.
My husband has been in the Brookwood Psyc Geriatric Unit for 2 weeks. It has been a total waste of time. He has done NOTHING to help my husband. I would not recommend this Dr. to anyone. I have changed Doctor and praying for better results or a transfer to another facility. What a nightmare!
He doesn't care about his patients. All he wants is pincushions to play God with. The only treatment he wants to recommend is shock therapy and doesn't even care if his patients get the meds they need. He likes playing with people's lives and seeing how much damage he can cause. If you care about getting better don't use him. People are nothing but disposable Guinea pigs.
