I've had 4 appointments with him. My first visit he spent all of 5 minutes with me. My 2nd appointment I saw one of his nurse practitioners and she took her time and she prescribed my medication. The 3rd I saw him for less than two minutes. The 4th time I was made to see another np (made because he was gone) and she was nice but couldn't write my script. I had to take more time off and come up there again because he inconsiderate of his patient's time. If I make an appointment with a doctor, I expect to see a doctor not an N... read more

This doctor cancels appointments constantly in the afternoon, especially. He leaves his patience with nurse practitioners, most of who can’t even write the medication’s that I need and so I have had to go back up there the next day to pick up my prescriptions. If I make an appointment with a physician, I expect to see that physician not his nurse practitioner. One time I passed him in the parking lot and he told me he would be right back, which was a lie.

I have been seeing his nurse practitioner for years and now all of a sudden Dr.Schachter wants me to see him every other month instead of Mr.Phillips. I used to could get my lorazepam every 3 months but now I have to be seen every single month and am only given 30 days. Dr.Schachter spends on average one minute with me. He only writes paper scrips which are extremely inconvenient as the pharmacy can’t read them and have to call the office to have them translate. I have extreme depression and anxiety and this going back and f... read more

Dr Shatner is a great Doctor, he treats you with your problems and his staff is very nice and helpful too. You don't have long wait times because he see's you as soon as you get there. I would recommend him highly to anyone, he is a genius. I would give him 100 stars if I could.

This guy absolutely does not care about you or your wellbeing. He always asks the same question, “how are the meds working?” and then hands you a prescription and sends you on your way. Literally, you’re in his office for less than 3 minutes! I was always given the option for a 6:30 am appointment but he was always the first worker there unlocking the doors at 6:45, but if you’re 14 seconds late to your appointment, you have to reschedule and are charged a fee. He will randomly take you off your medication cold turkey and is... read more

He took me to the office and didn’t even let me sit down and before he started asking me questions about money. Telling me that a drug test is $900 after I had already paid for my visit! Then he wouldn’t listen to a thing I said. The only thing that mattered to him was money. The staff was nice over the phone but not nice in person. I feel very disrespected, and like I did not matter to him at all!! I won’t be going back there!!!!

Dr Schacter has his own ideas about what is best for you, even if you already know what works from other doctors and have been on an effective regimine for years. He needs to teach academic medicine or do research. He doesn't listen. He just wants to try the most expensive, trendy medicine that was just developed based on some half baked academic theory.

I have been a patient of Schachter for ~15 years. He was my favorite doctor. I was finally on a regimen that worked. We tried to swap things around once and it really messed me up. My husband had to take me in. Schachter listened put me back on my initial medications and increased the dosage. So a few more years pass and everything is going smooth until… Schachter cuts me off of 3 medications, COLD-TURKEY, one of the medications wasn’t prescribed by him and it’s for a condition he is unable to take over care, unless he wants... read more

First off, as others have mentioned appointments are in 10 minute blocks and don’t last that long. He said operates a legalized pill mill where his #1 priority is getting you a new script as quickly as possible. He always asks “how things are going? Are the meds working?” but he doesn’t really care what you say. He’s already writing on his script pad. I was already looking for a new psychiatrist at the strong urging of my therapist due to increasing depression and passive suicidal thoughts. When I asked Schachter for a chang... read more
