Always very helpful Doctors and reception staff 5 star So good to have this surgery on south cliff
This is not the era of same day appointments any more and people need to realise that's what 13 years of ruining the NHS has done. The automated system works if you follow the procedure, they even allow you to recieve a call back when you're at the front of the queue. Always had prompt prescription deliveries (again, I book mindful of the delays so I'm never let down) and if I request specifically a doctor I am given one but if I want a shorter wait and it's not life threatening I can see a nurse practitioner. I have been with this Doctors for over 4 years, and have never been able to see one. I am always given a nurse! I work so am limited to when I am able to go. You are told to ring at 8 am, and then you are in a long queue, and with working are not able to hang on for the long periods needed to obtain an appointment. I changed Doctors hoping to be able to more easily get appointments, but have found this has not been the case. Scarborough is becoming a place of very few good Doctors, and that really worries me as I get older.
What to say about this surgery? Dr. Cole is an excellent doctor and I have nothing but good things to say. The way things are run however is awful. Need to phone at 8am to try to get an appointment and I say try because 9 out of 10 times you’ll be booked an appointment a month away. When you are booked an appointment it will be a telephone call or you’ll be asked to travel all the way to Danes Dyke surgery to be seen. Two months ago they stopped my asthma inhailer after 40 years of being an asthmatic. I have been having asthma attacks the past month and they still refuse to send me my asthma inhaler until I have a review, they set me a date without consultation that landed on a work day… I have still not received my repeat prescription… no doctor (I would like to know who my DR is) would refuse an asthmatic an inhailer especially with the high pollen count… I have been suffering for weeks with asthma and am thinking of seeing a solicitor ... read more
