Sassafras is an eclectic “Chalkboard” style restaurant. The progressive menu allows our experienced kitchen staff to incorporate a myriad of culinary skills acquired over the years. We work closely with local vendors, farms, breweries, wineries, bakeries, and coffee roasters. Buying local allows us to present fresh, high quality food, and beverages. Our new setup has a stage, dance floor, and is nestled at a historic location next the the Carson Hot Springs in Carson City, Nevada.

Delicious food and great service and great beer, I would recommend this place to anybody, amazing variety and great specials
Our second time eating there and had another great experience. I enjoyed the shrimp tacos, great flavor and just right with spicy salsa and avocado toppings. My husband had the tuna melt with homemade potato chips and pickled veggies. I loved all of it and can't say enough good things about the food and the great staff. We will be going back, it's a great menu, it's a little spendy but good food is worth it! You need to check this place out!♡
A wonderful, eclectic vibe all around! The food was delightfully adventurous and unique. My son and I enjoyed our Superfraggaliciouscheese loaf appetizer so very much. My daughter has been encouraging me to try Sassafras for a LONG time. I am ashamed that it has taken me so long to go. I will definitely be back!

I got sick eating the gumbo but later realized i put a splash of tobassco in every spoonful i ate. So it was likely my own fault. Other than that one time I have always enjoyed Sass food. Sorry if I posted o.w. somewhere, I typically try to talk directly with owner if I have a bad experience....
I think the tri tip special would've been worth the $26 had it been cut against the grain. The flavor was great, but it was too difficult to eat.
My boyfriend and I are big fans of the amazing food and great service! The employees are always so cool and the food delicious and unique!! We have branded this our favorite place to eat in Nevada!
