Repeat visits likely to this great restaurant We travel from Des Moines, IA to Chicago about 5 times per year for theatre and combine these trips with fine dining in Chicago. Salpicon, we've know about for years. This was a return visit distanced by 20+ yrs from the last. The experience was memorable and delightful. Old Town Chicago Tequila Bar If you love tequila like I do than this tequila bar in old town Chicago is a great place. I'm a Cabo Wabo fan and tasted all of them, including the premium....at least, I think I did because after several shots and some fancy mexican food I was having a blast.
Salpicon definitely exceeded out expectations. The service was exemplary - Jose was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with the menu and drink selection. The food had wonderful depth of flavor - the chef's passion for great tasting food came through with every bite. We will be returning to Salpicon with every visit to Chicago to enjoy more of the wonderful menu.
Everytime we have visited Salpicon, it has been amazing. Delicious food and great drinks. The staff is also wonderful. We will definitely be back!
Tamale appetizer special out of this world, adn please offer this often. Chili Rellanos were excellent (it is rare to find them done properly and they are a personal metric of Mexican restaurants) Suggest adding Sopapias to the desert menu. See you again, soon.
Tequila days!! Every dining experience I have had has been excellent, from menu recommendations to down to types of tequilas and their characteristics.

Wonderful Sunday night Pleasantly surprised. Food was much better than I remembered and service was excellent. Very quiet on a Sunday night, which was nice.
