Better than Frontera! I found Salpicon way back in 96 when I went to Frontera Grill and was told I had to wait 1.5 hours to be seated. We then walked out rather disappointed and we were overheard by a member of the staff discussing where we would go... very quietly we were instructed to try Salpicon and given the address and off we went. We didn't have to wait to be seated when we arrived and the food was incredible... I have sent friends, entertained customers and always leave with happy people. Long time customer Consistently high standards and perfectly prepared food. Only once did we have a bad experience in over ten years of coming to Salpicon and I think that that was just an accident, a waiter having a difficult evening.
this was our first time in and it was truly fantastic. my fiance and i decided spur of the moment to come in after people have been singing the praises for years. its a shame we waited so long and will definitely be back. james the server made some great recommendations and we had a wonderful evening. thank you!!!
GREAT service We have ordered the special menu of Salpicon that is roasted butternut squash soup garnished with smoky chile chipotle and caramelized pumpkin seeds. The food was above expectations. The service was great. We also had a good chicken dishes. This could be a Best Mexican Restaurant in Chicago. This was a very good place. The taste was superb – Food quality was great I loved my Huevos Motuleos and will be back sometime soon. Foods are ron the whole. The food was cooked well enough and the taste was superb. So if you are coming here, enjoy their service of the staffs taking you to your table then before ordering run. It will be cheaper and a much better experience. Honest food – I had the Tinga Poblana and I could find no fault with it, nice portions and the flavors were to die for. Can't wait to go back again. Very attractive atmosphere and excellent food They have a varied menu, great food and atmosphere. In addition, live music on some nights. Highly recommended.
