The real thing – When I was sentenced by my boss to Austin I decided to move to an area I lived in before, Anderson Mill. And what did I find first week? Saccones! This is the real thing, none of this pineapple pizza California looney toon stuff, this is real pizza the way I remember it from my first 31 years, growing up in Woodbridge, Carteret, etc. They're from Carteret! Pizza great, leave it at that. If you don't like it, you're probably from here.
It's a Jersey thing some wont understand – A slice of the Jersey Shore and the rest of Jersey (not Joisey) for that matter. The first time I went in I asked for a "boardwalk" slice and I got it. Perfect - pizza so big you can't get your face around it. Aahh' like being home again. It's the way pizza's supposed to be done - WIGGLY! The subs too! Well worth the 10 bucks for a WHOLE sub! (NJ translation - whole = large). And when they say large it YUGE - fugettabout those other dinky sub joints - PLEASE OPEN ONE IN ROUND ROCK!
horrible place – i saw that this place was listed #2 in Austin so I headed out there to find out for myself. I was so disappointed. I ordered a slice of cheese pizza with jalepenos. They simply took an already cooked slice of pizza and put jalepenos on top of them and handed it to me.. it was horrible.. I would never go there again! I recommend the Onion on 5th and Lavaca!
LOVE IT! – I grew up in South Jersey, right across from Philly. A friend told us about Saccones, and being the Jersey food lovers we are, we immediately went to Saccone's and had a pizza. First impression was AMAZING. I remember watching movies in jersey, eating the best pizza with my family, and this pizza brought all those memories back. ALSO, the hoagies are great. Soprano's own! – Yea, this pizza is true NJ, NY or PA pie! Thin crust is amazing, crispy and tasty, lots of garlic in the sauce, tasty toppings...I love it. If you are from anywhere near the the Northeast US, you will love this pizza. To quote Kramer, "I would eat this out of a dumpster!"
Pizza with Jersey Style – After much searching for a decent pie we visted Saccone's and were not disappointed. The pizza was fantastic and the staff were very friendly and most knowlegable. Hint......don't put a ton of toppings because then you can't enjoy that wonderful sauce and the best mozzerella in town. This is now our spot for pizza so go check it out........you won't be sorry
Real NJ Pizza for those who understand – I grew up in North Jersey and every weekend as a kid I used to walk to the local pizza place to buy a slice of pizza, a root beer, and play a game of pinball. For my first three years in Austin I literally drove around trying different pizza places, desperately looking for one that made "real pizza" as I know it. NJ Attitude Clashes w/ Austin Simplitci – I finally heard through word of mouth about this authentic NY/NJ pizzeria. When I ate a slice of pizza, antipasto salad and wings, I truly thought I was back in my old neighborhood. The service was outstanding, the atomsphere was a typical pizza/wing place. Nothing fancy or stuffy just great food, great value and great service. Now that I have sampled the goods of this divine pizzaria with the Jersey attitude, I am sure to frequent this little taste of heaven often!
Real Jersey in Texas – Some lady knocked the canolli or something like that, but she missed out on the treasure. This place's hot sandwiches put deli's to shame. The Philly Cheesesteak is the best i've had since the East Coast, maybe better than those anyhow. The Meatball Parm is incredible... get a fork out, no chance of manhandling that beast, and they make the meatballs fresh on location.
