Best Pizza In Austin – This is my favorite pizza. I worked there back in 1999 and will never change my mind on who has the best pizza around. Not just the pizza, but the people who work there are great including Dan and Joanne who you may not see much anymore but they are great. Everyone who works there are great.
Just like neighborhood NJ places – Some of the reviews here were clearly written by people who are in love with the idea of NJ pizza but have never been to a neighborhood pizza place in NJ! Saccone's is just like them ... small, not overly friendly, somewhat stand-offish service and scary-looking people working the oven. But they just make solid pizza. I like the calzones and stromboli too.
good food – The pizza is a great change from chain restaurant pizza. It's just as good as the pizza I had while visiting New Jersey. The sandwiches and greek salads are also good. The staff isn't fussy, so you'll enjoy a quiet meal.
Mezza Mezza – Since I moved here 4 years ago, everyone has raved about Saccone's pizza. Finally got to try it recently and am scratching my head and wondering why such a fuss? Mediocre and greasy pizza. Surly people work there. That's authentic NJ for sure! The turkey who answered the phone gave me bad directions on how to get there (and I live nearby). When I got there to pickup my pizza, surly people behind the counter. When I want to be reminded why I don't live in the North anymore, I'll get another pizza there.
New Jersey's Poor Attitude – Saccone's Pizza is by far the worst pizza place in the greater Austin area. Unfortunately if you live in Leander it's alos one of the closest. I have yet to receive a pizza in less than an hour and a half, the longest wait time was over 4 hours. After being over four hours late the Manager offered the next one free, when we called to collect the free pizza he refused to credit us for our troubles. The drivers always come late. I'm Floored!! – I've gone to this pizza place almost every other week for 3 months. I had a bad expirence and complained to the owner about it. He basically told me he didn't believe me and I must have some other motive(while yelling at me ). I'm a 30 year old hippie dude working for 3M with a family, what motive would I have. Best Pepperoni Pizza – If you grew up in the northeast like I did and when you hear the word 'pizza' you think of a thin crust pepperoni pie, then this is the place for you. I've tried most of the other menu choices(appetizers, sandwiches) and I have to admit they weren't very good. But...if you want a really good pepperoni pizza you won't be disappointed. You know when something is so good... – You know when something is so good you can just eat it over and over and over, and never get sick of it? That is Saccone's pizza. I only found out about Saccone's a few months ago, but I eat there a few times a week, sometimes more like every day. poor representation? – This place advertises that they serve Jersey style pizza. Nothing could be further from the truth. This place would be broke in a week if they tried to serve that stuff they sell as pizza. I've had better frozen pizza from the supermarket.
