Simply terrible. – To be brief: The entire experience was a total disaster. Upon entering, the wait staff was standing around chatting about their lives, and no greeting. When we were finally seated the waiter was extremely terse for no apparent reason and forgot our menus. Our chili con queso never came before our entrees. Our entrees were stone cold in the center, and had to be sent back - something we rarely do. After requesting the queso again, it finally came after our entrees were finished, but it was stone cold and so... read more
Great food, horrible service – The Food is GREAT but service is HORRIBLE!! Slow, slow, slow. You wonder if your ever going to get waited on or if the waitress is going to come back with your bill. So the bottom line is if you have the patience then go, if not then don't.
Best Mexican Place – My husband and I have been going to Ruiz for about 15 years now and we love it. The have the best chips and salsa. We also love the margaritas too. Not too sweet and not to sour. The service in the bar area is better than in the dining room. The servers are always so nice too. The parking lot is well lit and easy to park. We eat out a lot and this is one of our favorite places to eat.
Good, not spectacular – Heard good about this restaurant and decided to check it out with my husband. It was nice in appearance, but not really romantic. Nothing was really bad at all. It was just average to us. The food was ok, but not really unique or different from the norm. Menu was typical tacos, enchiladas, and a bland salsa w/chips to start out with. It was an ok experience, but we can get that from our usual places.
Great Mexican food - you won't regret eating here! – I first discovered Ruiz Mexican restaurant about 10 years ago just by accident. Now I can't go anywhere else for Mexican food because I know they are not going to measure up. My husband and I took a trip down old Route 66 through Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. I thought maybe their Mexican food would at least somewhat as good as Ruiz -- no way!! I'm too spoiled by the delicious Chimicangas at Ruiz. Plus their tasty cheese covered beans and fluffy Mexican rice with meat top... read more

Best Authentic Mexican Food in North County - PERIOD! – We just moved into St. Louis about two years ago and have enjoyed good Mexican food in other places we've lived. However, we had a hard time finding a good authentic Mexican restaurant here in North County. One night, while looking for a place to eat that would be economic with the kids, we saw that kids eat free on Tuesdays. We figured we'd give it a shot. That fateful night completely changed our dining outlook in St. Louis. Not only have we found a "good" Mexican res... read more
The best "Authentic Mexican Food" in St. Louis! – 11/09/2010 Just finished eating, again.... If you want a truely "Mexican Food" experience, try Ruiz in Florissant. We have been coming here for over 30 years. I have only tried 3 or 4 dishes, but I like them so much, I cannot help myself. My wife loves the chimichanga's and guacamole dip, and I like the Gringo cheese dip. The restaurant is come as you are and is very family oriented. A bar, a section with tv's and video games, and a large dining section with plenty of rooms f... read more
