Long waiting times, and low staffing levels are par for the course now at any A&E. However, pain management is one of the fundamental and basic functions that should be provided. In my case, it wasn't. Not until admission to a ward was my acute, severe pain assessed and properly dealt with - some 8 hours after initial admission to the hospital.
3rd world experience, no beds when in severe pain. Not enough seating, sat on the floor at one point. 13 hours of hell 😡
