RecommendedNothing but praise for our recent experience at Our Lady of The Lake Hospital! The team of doctors and all of the staff were all amazing and ensured all of our needs were addressed. Not one negative experience.
While the care was fantastic, they were misleading with billing. My son had to be transferred from Ascension to the Pediatric ER in Baton Rouge and was told by the staff in Ascension that the Acadian Ambulance bill would be billed to them since it was considered an inter-department transfer. 3 months later, I get an Ambulance bill for $1,100 (after my insurance paid the negotiated allowable cost) Now I cannot get anyone with OLOL to take care of this like they said they would. .my sister just had open heart surgery at the lake, and it was very successful!!
7/22- My husband, Adam, was transferred from St. James Hospital because they could not give him the level of care he needed. We arrived at this facility at 2 pm through the ER. They had him in the hallway for 20 minutes before putting him in a room. That is a HIPAA violation because they were discussing his care in the hallway. Thank you to OLOL for providing a wonderful facility for our community. The care our loved one received recently in the Heart and Vascular ICU and the 5th floor palliative care unit was superb. The doctors and nurses showed such compassion which made our loved one's last days peaceful. Thank you for showing my mother-in-law such kindness during this difficult time. Peggy Populis
I needed a procedure and it was all setup and a few days before the surgery I was emailed an estimate of over 3 thousand and they wanted half, my insurance has a deductible then I pay 80 percent, they wanted almost 2 thousand. I don’t have that kind of money, long story short they denied my surgery till I can pay, guess I will have pain and infection back soon, this hospital does not care about people only about money,
I don’t live there but I’ve seen a video this young lady recorded and you guys should be ashamed of yourself you push this girl curse at her and don’t treat her for 9 hours she has sickle cell you guys should be ashamed the video is going viral I live in Youngstown Ohio
