as a community member and long-time shopper at river valley market it is shameful to know that RVM employees are not paid for their time spent on the shuttle to and from work. river valley market prides itself as being the local, ethical, sustainable alternative to other bigger chain supermarkets but there is nothing ethical or sustainable about not paying your workers for their time being carted to and from work on a (for-all-intents-and-purposes) compulsory shuttle. this is wage theft. this perpetuates inequity. put simply... read more
If you are giving away free culinary courses every week but can not find the money to pay your employees for the time they give to you, you get one star from me. Shame on you. The happy valley does not look kindly on decisions like yours. You are very quickly giving your company a dirty name.
I will upgrade this to 5 stars when to start treating the employees with the respect they deserve. Hampering the rights of worked to help further your growth is not the coop way and has no concern for the community that makes the coop run. The shuttle is real and we deserve to be paid for our time. You should be ashamed.
