River Valley earns $25 MILLION ..Annual Sales.. with only .5 % going back into the community. As members we get a whopping annual share of $10.00. Where does all the money go...If this is a coop?
Great food, deals, people and over all atmosphere!
It is easy to complain, but I feel extremely fortunate to be able to buy lactose free products, wheat free products,, etc at our coop. Carrying special diet products is expensive, as that is a niche market that requires the coop a good amount of risk that other stores avoid. Yes other stores may offer raises sooner, but when employees qualify for raises, they cut to part time where they lose benefits. Who can survive in part time? I love this place. Amazing food. Awesome everything. I was also thinking yesterday about why they are not paying the employees more and how much that would change the entire vibe of the place if they did. The co-op already is a record setter as an awesome business. If they respected their employees this way they would continue to set the bar and create a standard for a wide circle of influence in business.
Great store with a huge variety of bulk nuts, grains etc. Wonderful, fresh produce. Worth the drive from CT!
