I had misgivings about doing my knee replacement in a hospital as small as Hayward. Now, I wouldn't have it done anywhere else. Dr. Donohue is an extremely well experienced and competent surgeon. Although he was indeed friendly, I left with no solution. If you need something more aggressive, he might be ok. If you are experiencing medium and consistent pain from a permanent issue, try to find someone who wants to offer some kind of realistic solution that might help. Everything he listed was aggressive and not necessary for medium pain which we both agreed on. He only knows how to manage extreme pain. It would have been good to leave with any sort of real option, which I did not.
Dr. Schwartz demonstrated a caring and professional manner while also having a clear wealth of experience and knowledge of arthritic knee issues and corresponding symptoms. Highly recommend him.
3 months post-surgery I am 90% back to full mobility and use. I couldn't be happier with the results of his work!
My 14 year old broke his wrist playing soccer. Dr. Hoepfner was kind, direct and a calming influence for my son throughout the process. He was positive and personable and brought a healing result on time and on target!!

If you need a hip, Dr. Schwartz is your guy. I got two, a year apart. He is very understanding and listens well. He answers your questions. He does an anterior approach so healing is pretty quick. I could have gone home from the hospital the day of surgery, but opted for an overnight stay. He also is flexible with scheduling and his team is excellent.
I was referred to IBJI by an urgent care facility after I broke my ankle in several places. They assured me when making my appointment that I should see Dr Kaz. He was straightforward, gave me reasonable expectations for my recovery and performed my extensive surgery. He also has a great humor to him which I appreciate. Dr David Hamming has done knee and shoulder surgery on my husband and 2 knee replacements on my mom. We have been seeing him for about 10 years. His knowledge and communication of issues are easily explained and understood. He takes the time to listen and offers many options for treatment, not just rushing to surgery. I have referred him to anyone that asks me for a good ortho Dr.
