Generally a Good Italian Restaurant... – It took my boyfriend and I on a Thursday night (arrived at 9pm) 20 minutes to get seated, take that as you wish. I didn't mind too much. The service was just fine, though, they checked up on us often, doing their usual. It didn't take long for the food to arrive, and the food was very good. I haven't sampled too many different Italian places, but of the few that I have been to, this is one of the best, food-wise. The ambience, though, is what turned me off. I had to talk loudly over e... read more
NOT that great! – Contrary to most of the reviews here, Machiavelli Ristorante was not that great! The food was acceptable, but nothing to rave about. The pasta was not cooked to Al Dente. Worst of all, when it got crowded, the waitress asked us to LEAVE! I don't know of any restaurant that has ever done that before. Overall, if you want a quick, medicore Italian restaurant where you're forced to finish your food to accomodate incoming customers, this is the restaurant for you. I definitely would not recommend this to anyone... read more
wonderful, reasonably priced italian – there is usually a wait & no reservations are taken, but you'll find the effort worth it. The food here is excellent & very reasonably priced. I would much rather go here than the Pink Door
The Best. – OK, so any resturant that had me going back 3 times in 5 days has o be good. The food is amazing (the Fettucini Carbonara is divine), it is unbelievably priced and the service is impeccable. The total bill for two of us including drinks, salad and one desrt was $50. It may only have 13 tables and you might be cramped and noisy, but you know what? If you want quite and intimate go somewhere else. The food here is the best Italian in Seattle. The drinks are always poured with enthusiasm too... Stop looking anywhere... read more
Good food but no room to eat it! – Simple, but yummy dishes. I used to eat at Machiavelli's often, but lately have had some dissapointing experiences. Hostess/waitress tried to seat us at a table with one chair overhanging into the main doorway. Wasn't very nice when we asked for another table. It's hit or miss with the fellow patrons. Either you'll be sitting next to the LOUDEST people ever who feel the need to YELL over the conversation of others or you'll luck out and be seated next to courteous customers who know how to ... read more
All you complainers stay away – Machiavelli has been taking care of us since our 18 year old was a baby. We drive over 200 miles one way to eat there. We eat there 6-8 times a year. They know when we walk in the door that we want 3 dishes of the usual. They seat us at our usual table. They worry when only 2 out of 3 of our family shows up. They've always treated our son wonderfully. We don't care if we have to wait. And Machiavelli, if you are reading this, we'll be there Saturday evening after the Bike Expo. See ya!!!
WHY Have I been Missing this? – Here's a Valentines Eve dinner review. We could tell the staff was prepped for the red-clad-masses. They were on top of their game...at least between early 5pm-7pm when we were there. Fettuccini Carbonara was awesome. Green salad w/ gorgonzola & Ceasar were both great. 2 drinks, 2 salads, 2 entrees, $32 + tip. Great deal! Try to sit along the walls, otherwise it's a free-for-all layout and people will be squeezing between tables & rubbing their butt on your plate. Would be nice to have candles... read more
Impressive – A small place on Capitol Hill that makes you feel at home in an Italian kitchen. The menu is simple but satisfying. The waitstaff is very responsive and friendly. The prices are very reasonable, especially for the quality and amount of food. The dessert menu is small but all you need is the tiramisu made with chocolate mousse - it is delicious. Reservations are not taken so get there early. We didn't have a problem because we went before 6:00 p.m. but when we left there were several frustrated couples because th... read more
A great place for any occasion – I go to this restaurant when I need a comfortable neighbourhood place, or when I feel like celebrating. The attractive staff always make it feel like a hip friendly place to hang out. The food is great, the bar is welcoming whether it's roomy or full. And you can always get out of there without feeling like you dropped a bomb on your bank account, even with many drinks AND dessert! To top it off, Machiavelli's is a family run business, with a well treated, loyal staff.
