Prepare to pet, feed and photograph both adult and baby reindeer at Anchorage's fascinating Reindeer Farm. Gentle and tame, these "deer" are accustomed to visitors and are very friendly. Owner Tom Williams actually grew up on this beautiful farm and transformed it from a dairy farm to a reindeer wonderland in the late 1980s. Today, visitors can also marvel at elk and bison, and can go on a horseback ride up up the nearby Butte.

RecommendedWe did the backyard tour. This family is so genuine and truly loves each and every one of their fur babies. They ALL have names! The family history is just beautiful. Some things to note: they have porta potties, a hand washing area, which you will need after feeding. You will get dirty and dusty-it's a farm, after all. Cute gift store and very friendly staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our day.

This place is great
This was definitely a highlight of our our Alaska trip! The backyard tour was well with the price. We loved hearing all about the owners family, especially the history of the farm! Highly recommend this for everyone!
We stepped in poop and got reindeer slobber all over us and had a wonderful time. 😂. The staff taught us a lot we didn’t know and we really enjoyed the chance to get up close with all the beautiful animals there. I recommend this place! 😊
We visited today and are in awe of this farm and the history....Denise and her staff were so friendly and the behind the scenes tour was amazing! We never felt rushed through, Denise was so friendly and sweet. Words cant adequately describe what a wonderful time we had today!

This place was amazing. Animals are very well taken care of. When you visit you are not rushed through. You have plenty of time to visit and feed the animals. The guides are very friendly knowledgeable. Defiantly worth visiting.
Such an incredible experience. We so loved seeing all the different animals, feeding and interacting with the various reindeer, and touching the babies!!
