People (Josh) were rude and borderline racist. They kept telling us to be quite while others (whites) were left alone. Told us to leave the property even though the entire team wasn’t ready to go. Their rules are rigid and unreasonable. We can’t use the phone to read but you can have a tablet. Stupid stupid stuff. I will never go back again.

Amazing! I’ve never been so relaxed! We spent 4 hours in the spa before our massage appointments and it was a perfect amount of time. The setting was beautiful and we had plenty of room to have our own space. The only thing that seemed like a silly policy is that you can’t visit the cafe during your stay. If you leave the spa area you can’t get back in so make sure you eat before you arrive. The Refuge is an excellent place to go to relax, unwind with sense of silent peaceful; especially after a long day, or week or month at the job or whatever. I loved the outdoor relaxation spa with the thermal cycle to Heat Up-eucalyptus steam room with Himalayan salt wall, Cool Down-cool plunge pool, Relax-zero gravity chairs and Explore-warm & hot pools. This is 5-Star, I highly recommend to treat yourself to this spa facility.

I always enjoy my time at Refuge. I don’t go often enough. One particular friend and I go usually a few times a year. The drive through Carmel Valley from Salinas is beautiful. The staff at Refuge are attentive and the entire facility is spotless.
