These people are profiting off the coronavirus. They won’t refund deposits and were about to withdraw the remaining balance when I called. I told them I was out of work and they said sorry no refunds. 5?weeks in advance with a viral outbreak is grounds for a refund. These people refuse to refund anyone’s money for cancellations due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Their beaches are closed, restaurants are closed, and we are currently under a lockdown and cannot leave. It’s disgusting what they are doing and horrible business practice. What a scumbag company! Hopefully the dollars they keep (instead of refunding due to coronavirus epidemic) will be worth it! I refuse to let them take advantage of us. Class action lawsuit, anyone?
My travel dates to Santa Rosa Beach FL are for March 25-29. BEACH IS CLOSED!!! They are refusing even the partial 50% refund that VRBO is recommending (never use VRBO either). RealJoy also advertises the same condo on AirBNB. Had I booked through that advertisement, I would have received a full refund. The only available week that I could possibly re-schedule for is in July and it would cost me an additional $400 at the higher rates. We booked our family vacation with real joy for March 30th... they are refusing to answer our calls or emails. Keep sending automatic emails that included NO refunds! Something should be done about this during this time that pretty much every state is in state of emergency!!! People are out of jobs and could use that money for their families. National State of emergency and they will not give refund our money. They told us we could reschedule- at an additional $1800 fee. I will never book through them again. We were packed and ready to go. We want to go but we are doing what is right by not going. Beware everyone do not book with real joy! We've used this company several times since we frequent Destin. We booked a Spring Break trip before the coronavirus issues, and now, we are unable to get our money back. I realize they have a no refund policy, but under these specific circumstances, they should reconsider their policy. Many other companies are making adjustments accordingly since this is a pandemic. I’d give them zero stars but it won’t let me. Seriously hoping they change their cancellation policy ASAP due to the extenuating circumstances of COVID-19.
