Just OK overall – Too noisy and a bit cramped. While the overall quality of the food was excellent, value is questionable. $6 for a caesar salad too small to share and $17 for spagetti and sausage is a bit steep. No one left with a doggy bag. By the way...parking is an issue.

Truly Authentic Italian – Eating the food at Porcini really reminds me of meals I ate in Italy. It is pretty authentic Italian. The kitchen relies on simple fresh ingredients prepared very well. Yes, the restaurant does not take reservations, it is extremely small, the tables are cramped, the decibel level is extremely high and you will get to know your dining neighbor quite well. Slice of Italy – This restaurant is a little slice of Italy away from Europe. The food is fantastic, and the service and atmosphere frenetic. Note that there's no bookings, so plan to have a drink nearby somewhere while you wait for a table.

Love it or Hate it! – There's no room for in-between reactions: a party of 10 takes up half the restaurant. Either you like being with a bunch of happy, animated, talking diners or you prefer more personal space and quiet. I suspect the latter's dismay at conditions affects their opinion of the food.

Awesome Italian! – Coming from Berlin, Germany which has quite a variety of Italian restaurants at all standards, this one has certainly exceeded my expectations. Despite the fact that it could certainly use more room, the food was absolutely fabulous, from the starters right up to the dessert. And I did not find the owner crazy, quite the contrary he was very very nice.

Crazy Owner! – I went to Porcini's for my birthday and we borught a few bottles of wine. There were 10 of us and we asked for a forth bottle to be opened. the owner told us no, we weren't allowed. I confronted the owner/host/waiter and he fought with me and my friends. We left and he chased us out on the street yelling at us!
