I'm 13 :) Okay, so I was planning to go to Plato's next week with my mom to sell about 5 shirts and 3 jeans and a jean skirt, but after reading all of the reviews I'm having second thoughts :/
Platos Closet Shopper I really like platos closet. I brought in 5 huge bags and they bought some stuff and gave me $125.00. I just let them donate the rest because I wasn't gonna haul all that stuff back home. Then a few days laters I brought in 5 pairs of jeans. 2 pairs of 7 For All Man Kind, 2 pairs of Rock&Republics and 1 pair of Victorias Secret Pink Jeans. She bought all of them and gave me $67.35. Plato's Closet is CRAP! I have bought and sold many clothes to the Plato's in burnsville. Every time I go in there the workers are rude and no one is there to help you. The clothes are over priced. Also one time i brought a bag full of stuff in to the store, at least twenty or so items, all name brand and only worn about one to two times and a few wallets and they only took two wallets and a t shirt and gave me $4 for those items! VERY RUDE OWNER AND DITZY EMPLOYESS!! I called Plato's Closet in Burnsville to ask a few very straight forward questions. The girl that answered the phone was completely ditzy and didn't answer the questions I was asking. She sounded like she was 12 and had no common sense or customer service skills. Good quality used clothing for teens and young adults If your looking for some name brand clothing for either your teen or if you are a young adult, then this is a great store to check out. There are a handful located in the twin cities area. They offer name brands clothes, shoes and accesories at reasonable prices. When i say name brand, i'm referring to tommy, gap, old navy, apostrophe, etc. I have bought clothing there for under $10 each. They also will take gently used clothing and pay you for it. A degree of utterly pathetic never before achieved. I paid a visit to the Burnsville location. I called before arriving to verify they still pay cash for used clothing. I brought in two pair of True Religion jeans- both 3 years old. Not a rip or tear in either pair. I originally paid $470 for the two. The Honest Truth!! Honestly I love plato's closet... I could get lost in there for hours because everything is so cute! I am thankful that its not like normal second hand stores. I think thats why everyone has such a big problem because they dont want your ugly out of date clothes that are heavly worn. Go to the normal thift store and donate your clothes and digg through there heeps of ugly closes and maybe you will walk away with a few cute things... RUDE RUDE RUDE! I just got home from taking some clothes to Plato's Closet and I didn't have the best experience. I brought in two huge bags full of name brand clothes, some even had the tags on them still and I got $8 for a pair of shoes and a couple shirts they took. That was it. All the employees were high school students and extremely rude. When I got there, the girl told me it'd be 15 minutes until my stuff was done being checked..so I browsed. 15 minutes goes by...then 20...then 25 and that same girl is out on the stor... read more
The rumors are true, they suck. I used to work at Platos, and give the girls a break. Its all the managers doing. They pay us literally nothing to do everything! The owner has a bunch of high schoolers running the place, and most high school girls are bitches. We are ALWAYS extremely understaffed only have 2-4 people at a time, leaving us having to ignore some customers. I worked there 2 years and got taken advantage of. The other review of the girl who worked there is AL TRUE! We get paid minimum wage to do the managers job... read more
