Great experience! Our shuttle driver was awesome! I don’t recall his name but he is originally from Florida.
We enjoyed our drive up Pike’s Peak, however due to construction right now we were not able to go all the way to the top. They stopped us and had us wait in line for a shuttle, but the shuttles were taking too long. So unfortunately we did not get to ride a shuttle up to the top. Nevertheless, I do recommend it because it is a beautiful scenic drive, and there is a great stop at Crystal Creek reservoir along the way.
Amazing views from high a top Colorado’ Rockies. One of the parks employees saved me a extremely expensive tow bill too. Our group from Iowa was riding our motorcycles up the mountain when my clutch went out. Needless to say the idea of riding on a mountain with no clutch and relying on your brakes is scary. The park employ came over and asked what was going on. After explaining the situation he knew that the hydraulic line had been vapor locked due to the altitude. A quick fix that didn’t cost a thing. Wow!!! Whew!! My oh my what an experience!!
We drove up to mile 16 on our own vehicle. Views were breathtaking and ride was thrilling. The shuttle ride the last 4 miles was nice as we were all able to take in the amazing sights. The view at the top was totally worth it!
