Worst bank experience ever. Has cost me so much money and time. Approved for a loan but no check ever sent. April 22, 2021 PenFed says they made a mistake and will send out check. Never received. Long story short, we are in July now...they cancelled the first loan (by mistake I'm told) and made me re-apply (hurting my credit). 10 days later, I call to check the status of the new loan which was approved and guess what...no check sent AGAIN! This organization steals money. We had a PenFed deposit account and credit card. They decided one day that when we paid our credit card off using our PenFed funds that they would place a 5 day hold on the payment. Essentially immediately removing the funds from our account but not applying it to the credit card. This is theft. Terrible business. Zero stars.

I went to their site to check out my car refinance and next thing I know I have a loan account number that I NEVER signed for !

PenFed Credit Union recent had a merger with Aspire Federal CU. They manually moved over employees salaries the 1st pay period. The 2nd pay period they decided to return my hard earned salary. I spoke with 7 customer service Reps. including a manager. Brenda, Crystal, Carrie, Rebecca, Melissa, Amen and Keshia. Customer weren't informed on the salary posting date. All the Reps. (excluding Amen and Keshia stated that they would call back within 2 hours. This never happened, my account number was missing 3 digits. PenFed return... read more

The Pen Fed Credit Union takes money, then holds it. they said they would refund the $100 that I paid to receive a credit card. They told me to send in several papers, but they said they were not clear enough. I could read them, maybe their idiots are also blind. I do not know braille. They need to be shut down! PLEASE DON'T ANYONE FALL FOR THEIR CROOKED LIES!

Don't waste your time. Started refinance in late April and its end of June. Can't get any information. Not even a status. Ignored over and over have so much to say but it is not worth it. Run fast I mean like lighting !!!!!!!!!!!!. I received the "offer" in the mail, seems to good, so I figured what the heck, apply and take it from there. I got approved and no interest card 7500.00 for 12 months, sounds good. From there then asked to pay a 5.00 membership fee, which I did . I used my Amex card (the only real card I use) it says not accepted, the I used my Discover card, same thing, I then grabbed a visa and ok to went thru. hings were great for the past years considering no issues arose. When I purchased airline services with my PenFed Cash Back card, the merchant sent an email stating the fare was refundable. The merchant failed to issue a refund/voucher, so I then filed a dispute with PenFed. A temporary credit was issued, but which was later reversed. PenFed Mortgage Department - I wish I could rate them zero stars as it was an awful experience. We started the process to refinance our mortgage with a VA loan in late August 2020 and explained from the beginning that we would need a 95 to 100% loan to value (LTV) and were assured this was not a problem. For six months we were constantly asked to provide documents we had already provided, the interest rate lock expired three times (and we were expected to pay to extend it in spite of the fact that the delay was not our fault... read more
