Poor customer service, LOTS of lip service. I signed up for checking, savings & credit card and was approved for all 3. I got an email the next day stating my checking account was opened. 2 days after opening, I suddenly was locked out of all my accounts. I called, they said they needed ID docs. I sent them the same day via uploading and was told by rep they will be reviewed in 24 hrs. 48 hrs later, still locked out. I wish I would’ve went with my gut and didn’t respond to my my pre approved letter. Come to find out I wasn’t pre approved. Oh they said I was pre approved to apply. This is borderline fraud I expected better from them. It was a waste of time & a inquiry. My credit is good so this should’ve been an easy process. Beware of this company if this is the way they do business.

AspireFCU fraudulently opened an account in my name and I'm unable to close it.

Do not use for an auto loan. They never sent some random third party they used to verify insurance and then they forceplaced a $3000 policy on my account. My payment went from $375 to $1070 from their mistake.

PenFed truly is a terrible lender / bank. I opened them up hoping to get approved for an older, classic car (1995 BMW). I filled out my application online, and was told I needed more supporting documentation, which I provided. I make WAY more than necessary for this small $13k loan, and provided all necessary documentation. They kept asking for much, which I gladly submitted. After being jerked around for TWO MONTHS my HELOC was just denied for information they had from the minute I spoke to the loan officer. DON'T USE THESE PEOPLE, THEY ARE TOTAL AMATEURS: I just went through a two month process to secure a HELOC at 80% LTV. Incompetent and Liars are two adjectives to describe employees of PenFed C.U. My credit score is 800+, my income $300,000+, they were my mortgage holder but after 6 months of trying to refi they blew me off, without even a phone call! I complied with all of their requests. I should say that during my first go round with them nine years ago they also took 6+ months to complete the loan, costing me thousands of dollars in excess interest payments. I have been a Mortgage and credit card with this company for over 15+ years. Recently, they have not been reporting this credit line as Open in error. The fact that I have been paying this on time and getting no credit for it should be a crime. Do not trust that this Servicer knows how to appropriately maintain loans and credit cards, they clearly do not.

This company stopped reporting my credit card to the credit bureaus I, even though I've paid on time for years. It is a real slap in the face, not sure how this even happened in the first place. My credit score has been affected negatively as a result. Don't make the same mistake, go anywhere else.
