Nurses and doctors were great but they are charging E/M level charges incorrectly. I went in for a kidney stone needing fluids and pain meds to help pass it and was billed for a level 5 E/M charge, which is typically billed as the most complex and highest-cost level, representing the most severe and urgent cases. I fought and went up the ladder and it was deemed they made no mistake. I have been a director/manager of an emergency room for the last 8 years and this type of billing practice is unacceptable.
