Loved this place.. I had the black and blue burger ...amazing!! The atmosphere in place is just relaxing and nice during dinner time. We wanted to go back for the bar life but I wasn't feeling the best. Probably after consuming the largest burger ever .lol but so worth it. The bathroom is upstairs tho with the sweet swinging chairs at the bar. That's what I was really looking forward too. Will bw back if in the area.
Fabulous pizza. Try the Caprese, like summer in a pan. Enjoyed waiter Josh, friendly and attentive staff.
We love coming to Papa Lou's when we come up north. The pizza is amazing and if you corn during happy hour, you get a pizza for $5.00. Out waiter Josh was friendly and knowledgeable about the wonderful beer selection. We will be back!
Our niece lives in Gaylord and suggested this spot for a late lunch. Pizza was fantastic and the bloody Mary's, excellent!!! Service was great too!!
among the best pizza we've had in the U.S. Had the Good Fellas and the Della Donna. Crispy crusts supported a lot of toppings (heavy loads of cheese on both). Basil-infused olive oil made both pies. Decent selection of craft brews from around Michigan. Sit on the deck if you can. Nice views over Little Traverse Bay.
We had great service and the food was amazing. Prices are comparable with other restruants in the area.
Wife and I frequent Papa Lou's when in town. Friendly bartenders. Place full of atmosphere. A lot less busy since the smoking ban. Always a good time. Place is a real classic rock bar.
Papa Lou's is our lunch stop for our annual "Dear Camp" where 30 plus girls dress in camo, have designated drivers and have a great day and evening. We typically take over most or all of the upstairs room at Papa Lou's. This year, Josh did an OUTSTANDING job bartending and waiting on us. Don't know how he did it working solo, but he had a great system. He ran individual checks for all of us, delivered our lunches and drinks and put up with our friendly razzing with good nature. Saw the advertisement for Papa Lou's in our hotel guide so walked the 1.5 miles for a dinner that far exceeded our expectations. We knew it would be good from the words of the hotel but the stuffed mushrooms and meat rolled lasagna was to die for awesome! Excellent beer and mixed drink menu with a simple and happy atmosphere.
