7 minutes ago My father was at the emergency department of Winter Haven Hospital on 10/21/2020. Unfortumately he did not survive his medical emergency. My mother was not allowed in to see him and although we spoke to the doctor at the time, we were extremely upset and later had some questions about his condition. We were told that we could speak to the doctor at the beginning of his shift and were assured by the nurse that cared for him that the charge nurses would all know to expect us. Nursing staff and PCT's are top notch. 9 hours in the ER with colitis not top notch. I know ER doc's are contractors but also the first impression of WHH many will have.
I would highly recommend this hospital to everyone. If I needed anything they were always there, and they genuinely cared about you as a person. From the first person to enter your room to the last, “is there anything else you need? “ “can I get you anything” even the food was good! Tami Shaffer

my other post appears to have been deleted. I'm sure this one will be as well, but I'm going to do this anyway. This hospital took my ill 87 year old mother who tested NEGATIVE for Covid-19 and placed her on the floor with the covid-19 patients potentially exposing her.
Don’t waste your time in the emergency room. Doctors getting over paid, not to give a care. Diagnosed me with degenerative arthritis and sent me home. Second was a waste, telling them something is wrong. Nothing!!! So went to Lakeland regional Health and I have 2 herniated disc and it pressing on my nerves... hmmmm😕 I will not go back to WHH ER , ever again, I lost faith in them. I will drive the extra 10 miles to LRH, from now on.
I wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU to Winter Haven Hospital Emergency Department Team! We had quite a scare on Friday when Josh cut himself while outside chunking wood and the Team took such great care of him! Special thanks to Nurses Amy and Travis, and Dr. Mahon! You guys were awesome! #baycareproud
