Attempted to have my step daughter's homecoming dress altered a few years ago. She said she is "highly allergic" to anything with a scent. I asked if we kept it in packaging it was delivered in would that be ok and she said yes. When we got there she opened the package, which was sealed and began accusing me of spray it with perfume and that she couldn't do it. I called Elaine last week to find out if she had availability to do alterations on a bridesmaid dress. She said she did and scheduled an appointment with me. She did in fact inform me of her sensitivity to aerosols, scents, and air fresheners. Since I use none of that and this dress has been in a bag from the designer since I picked it up, I didn't think there would be an issue. We needed some patches put shirt for my husbands job. Everything was brand new, the shirt and the patches. The lady sat there and smelled everything and told us that she could smell the fabric softener on them and they were contaminated and went on and on about how she can't have stuff like that, we told her they were all brand new. She disagreed and then she had to go and wash her hands. I think she is in the wrong profession.
