About this business
Owners and friends Naftaly Stramer and Ofer Sivan created Oasis the Falafel Joint in the summer of 2004. After meeting for lunch in downtown Iowa City the duo lamented that (at the time) falafel was nowhere to be found, and vowed to right this wrong. Naftaly had just left the tech industry and Ofer had just completed his degree in engineering – an unlikely starting place for what would become the world’s best hummus, falafel and fries.

I lived in the Persian Gulf for ten years. Love my falafel. This is the most authentic and tastiest sandwich I had in this area!!

The most amazing food! Small place but who cares, the food is what matters and it is amazing! Even my some times picky son, just loves it! Every time we visit from over an hour away, we got the sultan's plate to take home of stuff we love. My personal favorite is the couscous! I always get extras for home. My son just loves the hummus! I had the Lamb Sandwich and loved every bite. While waiting on my order, I stepped out to take a call and someone accidentally grabbed my meal, to make up for the mistake, Oasis gave me an order of fries on the house. Excellent food and great service! I'll be back tomorrow.
Best falafel and hummus ever!!! I'm addicted! Also, the folks working are always super pleasant and helpful!
