About this business
Owners and friends Naftaly Stramer and Ofer Sivan created Oasis the Falafel Joint in the summer of 2004. After meeting for lunch in downtown Iowa City the duo lamented that (at the time) falafel was nowhere to be found, and vowed to right this wrong. Naftaly had just left the tech industry and Ofer had just completed his degree in engineering – an unlikely starting place for what would become the world’s best hummus, falafel and fries.

Yeah, not much to add. Superb food where the owners are always around. If you ever wonder how to predict whether the food will be great, check the places where the owners are nearly always present. That's a clue.
I have lived & travelled extensively in Israel, the West Bank & Gaza. This was, by far, the best I’ve eaten outside the Middle East!

Stopped in on Vaca the Falafel was very good, Chicken Kabobs & Madjahra(Lentil Rice).
Best Hummus ever!! Won’t buy any other brand! I purchase it at Hy Vee stores.

Nearby for a class and stopped for lunch. Place was busy but didn’t wait long for food. Fantastic food and very fresh!!
