About this business
Owners and friends Naftaly Stramer and Ofer Sivan created Oasis the Falafel Joint in the summer of 2004. After meeting for lunch in downtown Iowa City the duo lamented that (at the time) falafel was nowhere to be found, and vowed to right this wrong. Naftaly had just left the tech industry and Ofer had just completed his degree in engineering – an unlikely starting place for what would become the world’s best hummus, falafel and fries.

Food was very Tasty. Great place! I recommend it..
Ordered a Lamb Kebab. Probably got exactly what I asked for but I assumed it would come as a sandwich. All I got was five pieces of meat and one falafel (dry as a bone as usual). The meat was good and so was the cabbage slaw I ordered as extra but wish I had a better understanding of what was coming my way.
Falafel pita with hummus, cabbage slaw and jalapeno relish. Mix it up with mango curry sauce.
Have to come here every time we're back in Iowa City. Love the falafel and the pita chips are absolutely the best!!
Seriously OUTSTANDING food!!! I'll be here in Iowa City until October and I think I'll be eating here several times a week. 😬
