About this business
Owners and friends Naftaly Stramer and Ofer Sivan created Oasis the Falafel Joint in the summer of 2004. After meeting for lunch in downtown Iowa City the duo lamented that (at the time) falafel was nowhere to be found, and vowed to right this wrong. Naftaly had just left the tech industry and Ofer had just completed his degree in engineering – an unlikely starting place for what would become the world’s best hummus, falafel and fries.

Best hummus I've ever eaten. Bar none. Pretty fantastic falafel, too.

Oasis is always delicious and a great value. A ton of variety and options for vegans/vegetarians. One of the best meals in the Iowa City area.

Every time I have Oasis cater an event I know I can trust the quality of the food and that it is prepared by good people with good hearts.
I crave the Falafel sandwich. Unfortunately, I live 3 hours away. There is nothing like it. You can make it at home, but it is really time consuming. This could be the world's oldest food. I think it is ancient like the Bible. I love Oasis Falafel!
