we have had multiple bad experiences with this facility with 2 different animals. Today they refused to see our dog who has developed a cough. though he hasn't been around other dogs the symptoms are similar to kennel cough. vet said there are no treatments. First, a simple test could Confirm this. Second, a bacterial infection is treated with antibiotics. I was told they would give military discount on procedure and they had it in my file. Had a surgery done on my dog and they didn’t apply my discount. I called when I got home and I was told it is to late to give my discount on the $2900 surgery I had. I asked if they would give me a credit then for upcoming appointments and I was told no. So now my dog has follow up appointments after her surgery I will be charged for as well and they said they will then apply my military discount. I understand taking precautions during this (corona virus) time but to not do any any spay or neuters at all, for any reason is an incredibly irresponsible thing to do... I had already spent $130 for the pre surgery visit before the lock down happened but was then unable to get the neutering itself done. Have you ever smelled unneutered male cat pee in a small apartment??? There surgeries were also not outlawed in the shutdown!! this was our 2nd visit to Oakwood Veterinary. The vet tech was very kind to our kitty Adso & worked hard to soothe his anxiety at being at the vet. everyone we interacted with was respectful, kind and professional. we are thankful to have found a vet that is closer to home as we had been traveling an hour each way for vet care previously. — at Oakwood Veterinary Clinic.
