My mum moved from hospital to this care home . The staff are warm , friendly and I felt an instant connection with the manager Ashley and senior carer Sam . I was unsure a d frightened after viewing 10 care homes that were cramped , smelly or stale . This care home is fresh , up to date and Newley refurbished . My brother moved into Oakwood just over 6 months ago due to his decreasing ability to look after himself. He was losing wait and becoming forgetful, confused and unsettled. Since then, he has settled into his new home well, started to regain his healthy weight and seems so much more relaxed and comfortable with all the staff and other residents. We as a family have travelled a very emotional journey with our Dad this year, not being in good health and needing to be cared for and leaving his home of 42 years. Due to the current pandemic it was extremely difficult to organise somewhere for him, not being able to go along and see a potential home and get a feel for what we could expect.
