Beautiful setting with so much history. Our guide was exceptional she shared many stories about previous owners and history of this majestic southern plantation home. Well worth the drive from anyone visiting New Orleans.
Cathy was an excellent guide. The restoration is breathtaking and the selflessness of the previous owner in establishing a trust ensuring public access is commendable. The restaurant was excellent, both food and service. The Seafood Mirliton was an unexpected surprise. The experience is highly recommended.
Had a Wonderful experience! Great atmosphere and great food at a reasonable price. Will be definitely returning!
Amazing house, wonderful staff, interesting true story behind the plantation. A must see!
Wonderful place! Beautiful grounds, great tours, and restaurant has great food! A Must See!
Beautiful house and property! The tour guides in the home, many of which are history majors in the nearby universities, give you a glimpse of the people who lived there, their lives, and trials and tribulations. The movie on making sugar, set up in what was once the kitchen, was also interesting.
Stayed in cottage #7. Loved it! New & very, very clean. Pre-ordered food. Waiting in fridge when we got there. Fabulous! Grounds were breath taking. Will def do again. ❤️
Loved it! I arrived early and was a part of the first tour of the day which was really nice because there were only three of us. Our guide was very knowledgeable and made the tour very interesting and enjoyable. After the tour, I took advantage of the self-guided parts of the exhibition which I found equally valuable - it was nice to be able to self-pace. The grounds are breathtaking if you love trees (300 years old!). Before I left I explored the gift shop which had many attractive items at reasonable prices and had a delic... read more
The movie Interview With A Vampire was filmed there so my sister wanted to check it out. On our way to New Orleans we stayed in a guest cottage on the Plantation. The grounds are beautiful with majestic Oak trees which predate the home. It is rich in history. We recommend the house tour since it gives a background to the people who resided there and the way of life.
