Lots of history. Oak Alley is wonderfully preserved. It is meant to show what plantation life was like as well as just a bit of the homes history and the people who lived there. The only recommendation would be to book a TOUR BUS because the plantation staff give them priority. If you are a walk in you could wait over 1.5 hours to see the big house.

The Plantation has old world charm. The history is very palpable. When you walk through the plantation you see where people stayed and if you listen you could imagine just what went on there. The mansion it self is spectacular. The dishes, silverware, it's all history....it's Wonderful! A must see. Not to mention the line of Great Oak trees that line the, used to be roadway to the mansion. Gorgeous.
